Elos offers a new bulb range in two new spectrums. The previous Elos Spectra was the first metal halide bulb range to offer the UV-P (UV protection) and the new bulbs continue with this safety feature at a lower price. The new SpectrumChrome has been developed and tested to satisfy the request of many US aquarists who wanted higher color temperatures with the Elos quality. The SpectraChrome is offered in, "coral" 14°k and "abyss" 20°K. The 14°k "coral" bulb is ideal for a whiter bulb used with supplementation from T5 or other lighting. The 20°k "abyss" bulb is perfect for a blue bulb that still produces good output and doesn't lose the, "shimmer" that many 20°k bulbs loose. Note: The package of the Elos SpectroChrome gives an accurate analysis of the color temperature of the 14°k and the 20°k bulb. Manufacturers Kelvin ratings vary considerably.
